| Corporate Profile History
Geerpres Incorporated got its start during the height of the depression in 1935.
In the beginning it was a one product company. It manufactured from metal stampings a
product commonly referred to as a downward pressure mop wringer. This was a system whereby
a floor mop is inserted in a hopper, two pressure bars close over the mop extracting
virtually all liquid from the mop with one operation of the handle. The company pioneered
this system and though it has added a number of other products, still enjoys notoriety in
reputation far exceeding its size within the floor maintenance industry. The name
Geerpres, is to commercial mop wringers, what Kleenex is to tissues in the paper industry.
Product
Geerpres manufactures three primary types of mop wringers in a variety of sizes
in steel, stainless steel, metal with epoxy coating, and plastic. A variety of buckets are
manufactured in compatible sizes in galvanized, stainless steel, and plastic, to be used
in conjunction with these mop wringers. The line is rounded out with a full compliment of
housekeeping carts, mop handles, wall washing kits, sprayers, and accessories such as dust
pan, lamb's wool dusters, tool holders, warning signs, and a wide range of new microfiber products.
Plant
The plant size is 85,000 square feet including offices located at the Laketon
Avenue exit on U.S. 31 in Muskegon, Michigan. The company operates one shift five days per
week with 23 employees.
Equipment
Within the confines of the plant virtually all work is of an assembly nature.
Metal stampings and plastic moldings are generally located within 75 miles of the Muskegon
plant. Geerpres owns all the tools and molds to produce these assemblies and is
responsible for these outside vendors employing over 50 employees to produce these parts.
This enables Geerpres to employ an experienced, efficient labor force seldom subjected to
layoff, and thereby, exhibits excellent morale.
Geerpres is noted throughout the industry for high quality
products and excellent service. We normally ship orders in their entirety within five
working days of receipt. |
